By creating an account or using Courtelo, operated by Courtelo, Inc. ("the Company", "we", "us"), including our mobile app and any related website ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Courtelo is a competitive ranking app for pickup basketball. Players record the results of in-person games against other players, receive an ELO-based rating, and appear on global, state, metro, and city leaderboards. Courtelo only tracks and ranks games; it does not organize, supervise, or host games.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Courtelo. If you are under 18, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You must create an account with accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. One account per person.
Courtelo involves meeting and playing basketball with other people in the real world. Basketball is a physical activity that carries inherent risks of injury. YOU PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK. We do not screen, verify, or perform background checks on users. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, for any interaction, dispute, injury, loss, or harm arising from games or meetups, whether online or in person. You are solely responsible for your own safety and for deciding whom you play with and where.
You agree not to: harass, threaten, or discriminate against others; use offensive, hateful, or misleading display names or content; cheat, manipulate, or falsify match results or rankings; impersonate another person; attempt to access another user's account; or use the App for any unlawful purpose. Violations may result in content removal, rating adjustments, suspension, or permanent ban at our sole discretion.
You are responsible for your display name and any content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display it within the App (for example, on leaderboards and profiles). We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users; you can report a player or content by contacting jrockstudio19@gmail.com, and we will review and act within a reasonable time, including removing content and banning offending users.
Ratings, ranks, reliability scores, and leaderboard positions are calculated by the Company and are provided for entertainment. We may adjust, recalculate, reset, or remove ratings at any time, including to correct errors, enforce anti-cheat rules, or maintain fair competition. We make no guarantee that any rating reflects actual skill.
With your permission, the App uses your device location to determine your city, metro area, and state for local leaderboards. You can decline or disable location access at any time in your device settings; some leaderboard features will be unavailable without it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Some features may require a paid subscription. If offered, subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) under their terms, auto-renew unless canceled, and are managed through your app store account. Prices and features may change with notice.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the App. Provisions on content, assumption of risk, disclaimers, and liability survive termination.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss, or harm arising from your use of the App, your interactions with other users, or any games or meetups, including loss of data or service interruptions.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
